Welcome to Seabird
Supporting connection, growth and healing
At Seabird, children and families are welcomed into a calm, compassionate environment designed to support emotional growth, connection, and wellbeing. We specialise in child-centred Play Therapy and family-focused support that helps children feel safe, understood, and empowered to thrive.
Play Therapy is the most developmentally appropriate form of psychotherapy for children, allowing them to express emotions, process experiences, and build essential skills through play. As Dr Garry Landreth reminds us, "Toys are children’s words, and play is their language."
Our approach is grounded in neuroscience, attachment theory, systems theory, and developmental psychology. Every child is met at their developmental level, with therapy tailored to their individual needs, temperament, and life experiences. We integrate a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed framework to ensure each child feels safe, respected, and supported throughout the process.
Seabird is dedicated to helping children build emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and stronger relationships — and supporting families to feel more connected, hopeful, and equipped along the way.
Our Services
-

Counselling and Sandtray Therapy (Adolescents and Adults)
Counselling and Sandtray Therapy provide a flexible, combined approach for adolescents and adults, blending talk-based exploration with creative, symbolic expression when words are limited. These sessions support anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, grief, and life transitions through developmentally attuned, personalised treatment.
-

Humanistic Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a specialised form of child psychotherapy that supports a child’s neurobiological, psychological, social, and developmental growth. Learn To Play (LTP)
Learn to Play is a structured, directive intervention that builds the foundational skills of pretend play, including sequencing, narrative, planning, and social engagement. It is recommended for children aged 3–10 who need support with developmental delays, Autism, ADHD, or confidence and skill-building in play.
