About
Georgina Mackenzie
Registered Child Play Therapist & Family Therapist
Georgina Mackenzie is the Director and Play Therapist at Seabird Counselling & Play Therapy. She holds formal qualifications in psychology and child play therapy, and brings a warm, integrative, and neurodiversity-affirming approach to her work with children and families.
Her practice is grounded in neuroscience, attachment theory, sensory awareness, and trauma-informed principles.
As a neurodivergent therapist herself, Georgina understands the importance of safe, predictable, and attuned therapeutic relationships. She blends child-centred play therapy with sandtray, relational approaches, and neurobiological research to help children feel understood, regulated, and empowered.
Georgina lives on the Surf Coast with her family and is deeply connected to the local community. She is passionate about supporting children to build emotional resilience, confidence, and wellbeing through the healing power of play.
