Child, Adolescent & Family Therapist
A Surf Coast father of three and step-parent to a teen, Dave understands the real challenges families face — the moments of overwhelm, disconnection, and the pressure to “get it right.” With over twenty years’ experience supporting children, teens, and parents, Dave brings a warm, calm, and down-to-earth presence to therapy. His approach is supportive and practical, helping families slow down, make sense of emotions, and rebuild confidence in themselves and each other.
Dave draws on Humanistic Play Therapy, Family Play Therapy, Parent Support, and Attachment-Based frameworks. With younger children, he uses play to help them express their inner world and develop emotional resilience. In family sessions, he helps parents and children reconnect, communicate more clearly, and create a stronger sense of safety and ease at home.
When working with adolescents, Dave offers a space that feels respectful and relaxed — somewhere teens can talk honestly, explore identity, manage stress, and feel more grounded in themselves. Parents often notice improved communication, less conflict, and a deeper understanding of what their young person is going through.
Whether you’re seeking support for your child, your teen, or your whole family, Dave brings warmth, clarity, and a belief in every family’s capacity to grow and reconnect.
